Pa Kasunmu's health worsens

The condition of the ailing veteran thespian, Kayode Odumosu, popularly known as Pa Kasumu, has deteriorated.
The situation of the comic actor is said to be giving his family sleepless nights at the moment as all efforts to keep him stable have not yielded the desired result.
An industry source informed the media that Pa Kasumu is now seriously hypertensive. He is also said to have been diagnosed with advanced cerebrovascular disease (is a brain dysfunction related to disease of the blood vessels supplying the brain), which has impaired his memory. Not only that, the source also disclosed that there is a sharp drop in the volume of his voice.

“Only God can save Pa Kasumu from his present condition. I learnt, his health situation has become more worrisome. As at last week, I learnt he couldn’t speak up again. I learnt people have started showing concern over his worsening health. I was also informed it has affected his left eye, and he is very hypertensive at the moment. If intensive care is not taken, the way the situation is going, he may develop Parkinson, and that will be unfortunate.’
However, an inside source disclosed to the media that Lagos State governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) has taken the first step of ensuring that his earlier pledge to save the talented role interpreter from the predicament is redeemed, by directing him to a specialist hospital, somewhere in Ikoyi, Lagos.
And he has undergone all the required tests to identify the actual state of his health. I also learnt that the result of the diagnosis has been forwarded to the governor. Now, everybody in the family is waiting for the next step from the governor. But I learnt the governor has not given the family any money.
All efforts to reach out to Pa Kasumu were futile as he was said to be taking his rest when we called him on his mobile phone on Friday, October 18.
However, Pa Kasumu’s niece, Mrs. Idowu Olajide, who also doubles as the coordinator, Save Pa Kasumu, picked the call and explained to us the latest development concerning the condition of the sick entertainer, including Governor Fashola’s pledged support.
“As it is now, the situation is very disturbing. He has lost his voice, but we believe with God, all things are possible.”
Asked to shed light on Fashola’s pledged support, he had directed him to First Cardiologist Hospital, Ikoyi, Lagos. And the result of the test has been sent to him. We really appreciate the governor’s step, it’s in the right direction. But he has not said he will give Pa Kasumu N12 million as being peddled.
And we have not received any money from him. So, we’re still appealing to all good hearted Nigerians to come to the aid of Pa Kasumu because whether or not he is flown abroad, the ailment needs serious maintenance which will cost a lot of money.
